What I’m Doing Now

Further Adventures in AI Inspired by All Flows

My collaboration with Claude Code has continued to the point where I’m the happiest I think I’ve ever been with the design, performance, and accessibility of my blog.

Nike Tennis Classic sneakersWhen I last updated you, the design was almost there, but just a little safe. Since then, I’ve attended All Flows 2026 and during the last talk of the conference from the brilliant Dines, found that last little jolt of inspiration I needed – my socks and trainers.

The blue you see is from the Nike Tennis Classic trainers I was wearing, and the yellow from my socks – giving the theme its new name: Sneakers and Socks.

Proving that inspiration can come from the most prosaic and unexpected places.

All Flows 2026

This isn’t really a Now thing, being in the past it’s more of a Then thing, but I must take a moment to comment on how brilliant this year’s All Flows was.

I co-founded and co-presented the first All Flows in 2023 and then stepped back into a more behind-the-scenes role in subsequent years, as being in full-time employment I couldn’t give the same level of time and attention that my friends and co-founders Richard and Simon give.richard and simon all flows 2026

What makes All Flows so special is that in addition to that time and attention, Richard and Simon pour huge amounts of love and care into the event, curating every aspect from speakers to tote bags.

This was the first All Flows since the first that I’ve been able to attend both days – OK, I had to miss one talk to go home and deal with work bullshit, but luckily it was the only speaker I’d seen before.

I can’t remember being so inspired by a conference for years, and as I type this, I realise that All Flows 2026 needs a post of its own.

Ghosts of Blog Posts Past Part Two

I’m continuing to slowly tidy up and optimise my blog post archive. It’s fascinating and sad in equal measure to see how much has changed over the lifespan of this blog. How many broken links and sites that no longer exist. How often Twitter featured in both posts and links, and how positive a place it used to be. It reminds me of the post by Anil DashThe Web We Lost. The tech bros killed the web I loved…

If this is what I’m doing now, what was I doing then?
