Whilst rummaging through my Instapaper queue for some lunchtime reading I found this video.
I was struck by this comment:
thousands of people… working long hard hours, at jobs they hate, to buy things they don’t need, to impress people they don’t like
OK so this is perhaps a little overly dramatic, but it’s not that far from the truth for many people I think.
There’s go to be a better way. Right?

Yes there is…
For me the Four Hour Work Week was the turning point in realising there was another way of living.
I used to work with you at Psion Dacom, Pam Harper, then. You’re forgiven for not remembering :-)
Mike and I, left the UK over two years ago – and live in ‘the land that time forgot’ in the mountains of Cyprus. Imagine no alarm clocks, no trains, no commuting, no bosses, no customers we don’t like, no telly, no mortgage, no pressure to keep up with rampant consumerism, no British Government, etc etc etc…
We have a beautiful home, a few treasured possessions, time to stop and stare, time to talk and really connect with each other, time to share our life with friends, fantastic food with real flavour, low crime, a real community, and lots of adventure… the important thing is we have freedom. And until you’ve tasted it – you’ve no appreciation of how precious it is.
We love it and wish we had done it years ago.
