I just saw this video on Garr Reynold’s posterous blog and thought I’d share it with you; as Garr says it’s hard not to smile.

Garr Reynolds is the author of Presentation Zen a brilliant book on presentations and visual design. If you write or create presentations you should read this now. PLEASE.

Garr is based in Japan and his posterous blog is a fascinating stream of visuals from Japan and around the world. I highly recommend subscribing to the posterous blog or following Garr on Twitter.

His main blog Presentation Zen is also a great read with more in depth articles on presentation style and visual design.

Earlier on Twitter Mark Boulton asked “what are you top 10 TED talks?”

Now I can’t list ten, but I’d love to share with you absolute favourite TED talk delivered by Sir Ken Robinson:

This is a brilliant talk. Sir Ken’s delivery is wonderful; no notes, no slides and absolutely no Powerpoint. His charisma, style and humour combined with a thought provoking subject keeps you rivetted; “visual aids” would only be a distraction.

I’ve watched and enjoyed this talk many times. As somebody who enjoys presenting and public speaking it’s inspiring.

Sir Ken Robinson is speaking in the UK this Spring so I hope to have the opportunity to see him speak in person.

Who’s your favourite public speaker or particular talk?

I’ve finalised the outline for the Social Media Strategy round table I’m chairing for IBDG next year and I’m pretty excited, I think this will be a great session.
