unblab: Brief Email For Busy People
by David Hughes
Last night, via the wonders of Twitter, I came across unblab a brilliant new take on the email interface.
Looks interesting.
On their website unblab say:
Our entire email client was created with the hope that you will use it as little as possible. Feel free to:
- 1. Get more done in less time
- 2. Enjoy using your email inbox
- 3. Do something else
I like their thinking
unblab is opening up to beta testers “early in 2009″ I have of course signed up for a beta account and as soon as I get my hands on unblab I’ll let you know what I think.
It’s great to see people applying genuine creativity and thought to usability and user interface design. To see people thinking about the core issues for users, and trying to solve them by breaking the very moulds that caused the issues in the first place. Compare the screenshot above with say Outlook or Lotus Notes; hard to imagine that interface coming out of Redmond huh?
