Waiting to see if your Page Rank goes up is like watching the grass grow. As for trying to figure out the whole google thing I wouldn't bother. There are better ways to spend your time. There are two reasons I have been commenting more: the first is to become more involved in the "blogosphere" to become more engaged rather than just publishing and the second was to increase traffic to my blog both through people following the link and hopefully via search engines. Most blogs tag commenters links with rel="nofollow" which tells search engine spiders to ignore them.
