As someone who writes quite a lot in a professional context, the factors that spur me to creating my best work aren’t minimal design, fancy fonts or a ‘focus mode’. It’s a spark of inspiration, an aggressive deadline and something – anything – to write on.

I appreciate the design of those types of apps but I find that if there’s something in my head that needs to come out then any writing environment is good!
