Are you a bit of a dab hand with CSS? Can you make IE7 do what you tell it? Then I need your help.

You see in every browser except IE7 my menu links look like his on hover:

But in IE7 the background doesn’t fill the padded area on hover; there’s a background visible but it is only behind the text.

I’ve tried a number of changes from articles found online but none have fixed it and I’m at a loss now.

Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated.
