Apple Announces iPhone SDK & Enterprise Support - RIM Shares Drop $3
March 6 2008
Apple today announced details of the SDK (finally!) and enterprise support for the iPhone.
The SDK will allow developers to build native applications i.e. ones that run on the iPhone such as the calendar application, rather than webapps which require an internet connection.
Apple also announced enterprise support via a Microsoft ActiveSync licence, which will bring Blackberry style push email and calendars to the iPhone. RIM the manufacturer of the Blackberry saw their share price drop $3 during the announcement! They are, I’m sure, watching this development with great “interest”.
I have a Blackberry for work, but using my iPhone has reinforced just how terrible the Blackberry interface is.
Chances of my employer rolling out iPhones?
There’s probably more chance of me completing the London Marathon, in a three-legged, running the Dalai Lama…
